Digital Display and Electronic control implementation in Referigerator

Small step towards smart refrigerator design.

With my team at Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited worked on this project under supervision of Md. Imran Ali, Senior Assistant Director of RAC R&D. Most of the refrigerator models of our factory were ancient timer and thermostat based. In the project we have developed an electronics processor controlled model. We used Renesas RL78 series microcontroller, which is much more flexible and efficient. We implemented a round robin task scheduling procedure to maximize the firmware responsiveness.

Real time tracking of temperature and a fuzzy based model to control the compressor increased overall electrical efficiency of the system. Hopefully this new model replacing old timer based control.
